Of course, insurers have been paying for Oxycontin and other dangerous narcotics, which are ineffective and dangerous for non-cancer related pain. Over use of opioids like Oxy is creating a new generation of addicts, fueling heroin addictions, and directly causing thousands of deaths per year. Cannabis is a safe and effective pain treatment for many people, and has no known toxic dose.
