New proposed regulations for Maryland’s medical marijuana industry will require Terrapin weed to be the purest in the nation. Every nug sold must be tested for yeast, mold, mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, and microbiological impurities, including aeruginosa, aspergillus, s. aureus, aflatoxin, ochratoxin and pesticide residue.
Proper characteristics for odor, appearance, fineness and moisture content are also mandated. Thinking about dumpster diving for any weed that doesn’t have the proper odor or moisture content? Not in Maryland. Weed which doesn’t make the grade must be tracked through to its humane destruction.
Each batch of marijuana will be assigned a production and expiration date, and be tracked from seed to sale.
