O’Malley Confesses He Was Wrong all Along about #Marijuana – Signs Maryland Decrim into Law

How could he have been so wrong for so long? Yesterday Maryland Governor Martin “tough-on-crime” O’Malley not only signed decriminalization (of less than 10 grams) into law, he confessed that he had been wrong about weed all these years.  Now you tell us.  According to Erin Cox and Michael Dresser at the Baltimore Sun, O’Malley told the crowd:

“As a young prosecutor, I once thought that decriminalizing the possession of marijuana might undermine the public will …I now think that decriminalizing possession of marijuana … might even lead to a greater focus on far more serious threats to public safety and the lives of our citizens.”

  1. Has anyone noticed the change in agricultural production and marketing of illegal contraband in Mexico? With the increase of marijuana decriminalization in the United States heroin cultivation and marketing is now replacing marijuana as the more profitable contraband in Mexico! Is ‘black heroin’ also going to make a comeback (prevalent as the dirty heroin made in Mexico about twenty years ago) along with the present heroin being shipped from Mexico? Enough already for political posturing on marijuana decriminalization ushering increased deaths from heroin use!!
