AP: Washington State Marijuana Arrests Dropped From 5,531 to 120 After Law Changed

AP News from the Other Washington – the ACLU of Washington State is reporting that after marijuana law reform in that state annual prosecutions went from 5,531 in 2012  to just 120 in 2013.  The 120 were people charged with more than one ounce. In June, Washington State’s new legal sales will begin, so these 120 may go to zero this year. That’s the kind of change we are looking for in Washington D.C. from our new decriminalization bill.  After the law going into effect, sometime this summer, we expect arrests to fall dramatically. Stay tuned.
