Historic: DC Dispensary Fills First Medical Marijuana Prescription

15 Years Later….Read Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis story on DC’s 15-year struggle to provide a legal source of marijuana for seriously ill patients.  http://wapo.st/1e7aaDa He follows the first patient to obtain marijuana at a dispensary, Capital City Care.  The system requires a “recommendation” form completed by a physician, and then the issuance of a medical marijuana card by the DC Health Department.  About 20 private doctors have requested the forms recommending cannabis, and 9 patient cards have been issued to date, DeBonis reported.  By the way, medical marijuana is not cheap. Capital City Care offers 4 kinds, priced from $380 to $440 an ounce.
