SOCCER MOM FACING MANDATORY MINIMUM 10 YEARS IN FED PRISON FOR GROWING MARIJUANA

You buy a little bag of marijuana from someone, who got it from someone else – but eventually someone had to grow it. When the grower gets caught, it’s not just community service. Growers get charged by the Drug Enforcement Agency, are held without bail, and face a mandatory minimum 10 years in federal prison without the possibility of parole, like this suburban mom of two kids, 13 and 3.

The accused in this Smoking Gun article is a divorced mother of two girls, with no prior record. Like most marijuana growers charged in federal court, she is being held prior to trial – even though she has no prior record.
