The Huffington Post is reporting that former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, is teaming up with former Mircrosoft executive Jamen Shively in a $100 million dollar project to sell Mexican grown marijuana in the states. Will this be another Windows 8?
Shively and el presidente plan to use Mexican farms with Mexican workers to market a national brand of marijuana to be sold in states where pot is legal – so far only Colorado and Washington State. But will U.S. consumers turn to Mexican reef for their Rocky Mountain high? On the black market, Mexican cannabis is considered inferior to hydroponicly grown domestic reef. But other Mexican brands, such as Corona beer, have managed to obtain premium status with U.S. consumers.
How does Fox know so much about the marijuana business if he was an ardent drug warrior as president of Mexico? Well, you’ve heard of the revolving door. Stay tuned.
