KETANJI BROWN JACKSON NOMINATED FOR FEDERAL JUDGESHIP

Today the White House nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the slot on the federal bench which became vacant with the death of judge Norma Holloway Johnson last year.

Jackson is a Harvard Law grad and currently a member of the United States Sentencing Commission. She was formerly an assistant federal public defender and later in private practice with Morrison and Forester.

Will Jackson get through Senate confirmation? Currently, Senate Republicans are blocking votes on 17 other federal district court nominees. Whether they let up after Romney looses is anybody’s guess.

How will Jackson be in federal marijuana cases is she gets confirmed? Stay tuned.
