The government’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the result of a new survey reporting that more high schoolers smoke marijuana than cigarettes. Alcohol consumption is also way down.
23 percent of high school students say that they have smoked marijuana recently, while only 19 percent say that they’ve recently smoked cigarettes. Alcohol use has declined from 75% to 63% since 1977. Marijuana and tobacco usage in DC, Maryland and Virginia tracks the national averages.
