Police in Fort Worth, Texas have arrested 4 Texas Christian University football players on pot charges. According to the police, when it comes to pot, Texas Christian football players are a lot like college students elsewhere.

By age 25, 53.5% of Americans have used marijuana.

The vast majority of marijuana users never run into the law. But when they do, young lives can be ruined.

In some states (Massachusetts, Colorado, California) these players would face only a civil fine if caught.

But in Texas, the repercussions for the TCU football players are likely to be severe.

Expulsion from the university and student housing.  Forget about playing football and your scholarship.

You’ll be shunned by your friends and alienated. Your chance of a future career, in or out of football, is likely gone, because of these charges, you won’t have a college degree.

Not to mention the possibility of jail time. The police allege that the players sold  small amounts to their buddies (who were actually undercover cops) opening these kids up to felony charges of distribution.

Stay tuned.
