DC DRUG TESTING: NOW IT’S ONE – AND – DONE

DC Superior Court has now reduced its drug testing requirement to one-and-done.  One negative test that is…

Last year, people charged with drug crimes, including marijuana, were required to urine test negative for 3 consecutive weeks to get a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA), Deferred Sentencing Agreement (DSA), or other favorable disposition.

Beginning this year, however, if your first test is negative, that’s it. You’ve completed your testing obligation. No more drug testing while your case is pending.

And you’re eligible for a DPA, DSA or 904.01(e).  Read about your choices here.

If you were released from the police station following your arrest, your first court date is probably 2 weeks away.  That’s usually (but not always) enough time to produce a clean urine.
