New research from Israel indicates that marijuana is an effective treatment for Crohn’s Disease, a type of inflammatory bowel disease.
Researchers in Tel Aviv University report that 21 out of 30 Crohn’s patients showed significant improvement after treatment with cannabis. Marijuana significantly reduced the need for other medications and surgery. The full report is found on PubMed. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21910367
This peer-reviewed research again calls into question the federal government’s classification of marijuana as a “Schedule 1” drug, meaning that to the feds, there is “no currently accepted medical use” for pot.
Published research on the treatment of Cancer patients, AIDS sufferers, those with MS, and now Crohn’s Disease, tells a different story. Marijuana is a highly effective treatment, without serious side effects.
